Good news if your reviews live in Okendo: Checkout Plus connects to Okendo, so the ratings and reviews you've already collected can show up right inside Shopify checkout. No copying reviews over by hand, and no custom code.
Okendo is a Shopify reviews and customer marketing platform that helps brands collect and show product reviews, ratings, and photo and video content. Here's what the integration does, who it's for, and how to set it up.
Why show reviews at checkout
Reviews usually live on product pages. But checkout is where shoppers make the final call, and a quick look at what other customers said can settle any last second doubts.
- It backs up the decision. Shoppers see that real customers liked what's in their cart, right before they pay.
- It helps upsells make sense. A star rating next to an add-on gives shoppers a reason to trust a product they didn't plan to buy.
- It puts your reviews to work. You've already put effort into collecting Okendo reviews. This gets them in front of shoppers at one more step.
- It stays on brand. Reviews show in Checkout Plus blocks you style yourself, so they fit the rest of your checkout.
What's new
Okendo sits under Integrations in Checkout Plus, right next to Yotpo and Judge.me. Once you connect your Okendo account, Checkout Plus pulls in your product review data, and you can show it in a few places.
On line items
Show Okendo star ratings on the products already in the cart, so shoppers get one more nudge of confidence about what they picked.
On upsells
Add ratings to the products you recommend at checkout, so an add-on comes with a bit of social proof.
In a reviews section
Use the Benefits, Reviews & Testimonials block to show a set of review cards wherever you place it in checkout, separate from any one product.
After the purchase
Reviews can also show on your Thank you and Order Status pages.

You can also find Checkout Plus in Okendo's Tech Partner Directory.
Who it's for
- Stores that already use Okendo. Your reviews are already there, so this just gives them one more place to show up.
- Shopify Plus stores. Blocks on the Information, Shipping, and Payment steps need Shopify Plus, so that's where you'll get the most out of reviews in checkout.
- Stores running checkout upsells. Ratings on your offers help shoppers trust a product they didn't come in for.
How to set it up
Here's the quick version. You'll need Checkout Plus and Okendo both installed on your store, with reviews already in your Okendo account. For a longer walkthrough, see How to add Okendo Reviews to the Shopify Checkout using Checkout Plus.
Step 1: Connect Okendo
In your Shopify admin, open Checkout Plus and select Integrations. Find the Okendo card and connect your Okendo account. When the card shows Connected, you're all set. If you ever need to refresh the link, select Reconnect.

Step 2: Choose Okendo as your review source
Open the settings for your Benefits, Reviews & Testimonials block. Under Step 1: Content, open Reviews integration and set Provider to Okendo. Then select Save.

Want ratings on upsells or line items instead? Turn on reviews in that block's settings and pick Okendo there.

Step 3: Add the block in the Checkout Editor
Open the Checkout Editor and go to the step where you want reviews to show. Select Add block, choose your block under Checkout Plus, drag it into place, and select Save.
Step 4: Test it
Add a product that has Okendo reviews to your cart and go through checkout on desktop and mobile. Check that ratings show where you expect, then try a product with no reviews so you know how that looks too.
Tips
- Pair reviews with upsells. A rating next to an add-on is one of the easiest places to put reviews to work.
- Keep it light. Star ratings and short snippets fit checkout better than long reviews.
- Match your branding. Use the style settings, like card background and card width, so review cards blend in with your checkout.
- Check the real checkout. The preview in the block settings isn't an exact match for checkout, so always look at it in the Checkout Editor before you go live.
- Mind your consent setup. Selling where cookie consent rules apply? Read how to add reviews to checkout without breaking GDPR.
Common questions
Do I need an Okendo account?
Yes. The integration connects to the Okendo account you already use and shows the reviews you've collected there.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
To show reviews on the checkout steps, yes. Blocks on the Information, Shipping, and Payment steps need Shopify Plus.
Do I have to add reviews to Checkout Plus by hand?
No. Once Okendo is connected, Checkout Plus pulls in your product review data from Okendo, so there's nothing to copy over.
Can I connect Okendo, Yotpo, and Judge.me at the same time?
Checkout Plus has integrations for all three. In the Benefits, Reviews & Testimonials settings, Provider picks which connected integration that block uses.
Where can Okendo reviews show?
On line items, on upsells, and in a Benefits, Reviews & Testimonials section in checkout, plus your Thank you and Order Status pages.
Troubleshooting
Okendo doesn't show as Connected
Make sure Okendo is installed on the same store, then select Reconnect on the Okendo card under Integrations.
Okendo isn't in the Provider list
Provider lists your connected integrations, so connect Okendo under Integrations first, then come back to the block settings.
Reviews aren't showing at checkout
Check that the block is added and saved in the Checkout Editor, that the products in the cart have reviews in Okendo, and that your store is on Shopify Plus if the block sits on a checkout step.
Wrapping up
If your reviews already live in Okendo, there's no reason for them to stop at the product page. Connect Okendo in Checkout Plus, pick where reviews show, and test it before your next big sale. Using Yotpo too? See Yotpo × Checkout Plus.
